Melvin led Bonaventure in almost every statistical category and was at or near the top of the league in a few. Still, it's his almost unparalleled motor that sets him apart.![]()
Melvin, who is great on both ends of the floor, was selected 3rd team all A-10 this season and 1st team NABC all-district.![]()
Despite appearances, it isn't just about money for Melvin and his mom. When he chose Bonaventure last year, he turned down "bigger" programs offering 2-3 times more money. ![]()
Kansas plays in the Big 12 and is by any measure one of the great D1 men's basketball programs in the country. ![]()

Melvin Council (Wagner College; Monroe College; Rochester, NY) has been chosen 3rd team all-A10 in his first year in the league while leading his team in almost every statistical category. ![]()
A 6'4", 180 lb senior, Melvin averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game this season while playing 36.5 minutes per game. His minutes were 2nd in the league, assists 5th, assist to turnover ratio 5th, steals 1st and total field goals 4th. ![]()
Given all he did while playing the most important position on the floor (point guard), you have to wonder how he was only picked 3rd team. Max Shulga plays a similar position, was Player of the Year and their numbers are almost identical. I'm not saying Melvin is that good. I am saying there isn't that much of a gap. Yes, it's a very big league and yes there are a lot of very good players and his team didn't finish near the top of the league. Still. you really have to wonder.

5'11", 145 lbs and only a sophomore, Olivia averaged 10 pts and 7 rebs, to go along with 22 steals and a team leading 22 blocks this season. ![]()
Olivia was also recently named MVP of the league championship tournament and is a major reason why Depauw has won their league and gone the the NCAAs two years in a row. ![]()

Olivia Hart (Central Magnet School, Murfreesboro, TN) was named tournament MVP as she and her Depauw women's basketball teammates won the NCAC tournament for the second year in a row. ![]()
Olivia, a 5'11", 145 lb sophomore is the heart of her Depauw team. In the championship game she had 11 pts., 18 rebs., and 1 block in 34 minutes of play. For the tournament she averaged 12 pts., 13 rebs., 1 blk, 2 steals and 2 assts.![]()
